Listening to the Work
When you stop forcing the path, the path reveals itself.
2024

Recras
In February 2024, I joined Recras as a software developer. Recras is a SaaS platform for recreation companies, helping them manage bookings, resources, and communication. I worked on backend improvements, internal tools, and modern API functionality — always with a focus on clarity and maintainability.
2023

Sabbatical
After a reorganisation at my last employer I decided it was time to reorganize some lose ends in my life. That escaled slowly to a full sabbatical at home. Gave me much thinking about what, how and when.
2021

Lead Developer
In 2021 I moved to Groningen, so I also switched jobs. I started at ToPay, an accounting firm. We did the bookkeeping of
sole proprietorships / self-employed people there. My role was to startup a new department. Our goal was to move all development of the software our clients used inhouse.. After that we had to rewrite the codebase to make it scalable, easy maintainable and smart extendable. Making new features only a thought away.
2020

Full Stack Developer
At the begin of 2020 it was time for a new challenge, so I started at Bumbal in Tilburg. They make what they call Smart Transportation Software. My goal there was to make development iterations faster, to automate repetable tasks and to introduce new technologies to solve problems of the old legacy codebase.
2016

iMetal
In 2016 I started at Business School in Rotterdam, so I decided it was also time to start for myself on the side. To do things that are outside my comfort zone. I like to try new things.
2015

Developer
At Emeni in Roosendaal, we had a myriad of different projects that we did. We all had our own projects to do. There I did wrote software for medical equipment, software for the educational sector, webshops with connection to automated warehouses but also your a dime a dozen local business websites.
2014

App Developer
At Cader B.V. in Best, they needed an application to calculate and demonstrate their Dunnage Bags for securing loads inside shipping containers.
You would input your cargo for inside the shipping container and it would display with a topdown and a sideview how to use the Dunnags Bags to secure the cargo.
Unfortunaly the application is not available anymore.
2012
Freelance
After my job at my highschool I decided it was time for me to do more with programming. So I started to look up websites of local companies. Then I would workout what was not working correctly or not efficient. After that I would call them and give them a presentation of the problems. I would also present possible solutions and how much it would cost to let me fix it. Almost 50% of the time I would hit a success.
2011

Pen Tester
While I was still in highschool I hacked my school network multiple times. After a few times my school decided it was time that they fixed the security holes there. So they hired me to workout all hacks and then how to fix it for the IT department at school.
Problems I worked on: being able tto take over other student accounts, login to teacher accounts, even change your own or other students’ grades.
2006
Homebrewing
At the age of 13 I started programming. Out of necessity. I wanted to do things on the computer I got from my parents when I started middle school. It was an old Pentium II with Windows 2000 on it. It started with simple programs, but eventually I moved on to the homebrew gaming community. I’ve made some pc games but also games for embedded platforms like the Nintendo DS. This because you get expentional more freedom at programming on bare hardware. I’ve even written my own video codec with audio, for the Nintendo DS.
